About the tour

Okay, voyagers, the time to relax is over. Get out of your lazy chair, bed or couch, it's time for action! (btw if you are not able to get out of your chair, you are still very welcome to join) My good friend Violeta has developed a programme for Heygo, especially for us all who spend a lot of time behind a screen watching tours. Violeta uses elements from Pilates and other movement techniques as effective exercises for body and mind. You will strengthen your core, stretch and work out your full body. This experience is for anyone who wants to feel powerful in life, regardless of age, gender, agility or physical limitations. Weather depending (it is Amsterdam after all), this tour will take place in a park, allowing you to embrace nature as you exercise. I myself am a total beginner when it comes to this kind of exercise, but I will be joining in the programme, along with you all at home. So let's see how that goes... Take your body on a tour to fitness and health ;)

Meet Stephan

Stephan is a real Dutchie, he was born in Delft (the city of Vermeer), grown up in Gouda (the cheese city), studied in Leiden (city of Rembrandt) and he lived in Rotterdam (the harbour city) before moving to our capital Amsterdam in 2006. After a career in technology as an Online Strategist, he decided to leave behind the corporate world to start guiding visitors of Amsterdam and started his own private tour agency, Amsterdam Experiences. That’s when he discovered that walking and cycling around the city with international visitors is a lot more fun than a desk job! As a guide, Stephan loves to show his virtual guests the hidden gems of Amsterdam through the eyes of a local. He has a passion for telling stories about Dutch history and culture. Stephan is very enthusiastic about the Netherlands and also guides tours in Delft, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden and Den Hague. Stephan’s tours cover a wide range of topics, whether that be sensitively tackling difficult subjects, such as Anne Frank and Jewish history of Amsterdam. However, he is equally comfortable being spontaneous, whether visiting goats in a goat farm to riding his orange flowerbike around with the flowerbike man himself. Stephan also now has tours in Belgium, covering Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. So join him on the bike or by foot, and see the highlights of the Netherlands or even perhaps Belgium.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Amsterdam with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Amsterdam. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Not the best judge of exercises at present as immobile with a bad back but watched anyway. Seemed really well organised exercises with Stephan showing the floor version while Violetta explained a slower chair based version, so people could choose which ones they wanted to do.

What a wonderful lunch break tour! I haven’t done Pilates in over a year and the combo of Pilates and other gentle movements were a great way to get back to it. I hope Stephan and Violeta offer more dates for this tour. It is very inclusive with so many levels of each exercise shown.

This experience was something different! I appreciated that all abilities were taken into account throughout the session, with lots of attention paid to adapting the moves for those who were seated. In my experience, this does not happen often. Looking forward to the next session!
