In this tour Karl and Karin talk about the Vikings as warriors and raiders. Join us in beautiful Viking Valley Gudvangen for this fascinating look at the more violent aspects of the Viking age. We will talk about why and how the Vikings became feared all over Europe: How were their raids conducted? Why were these seaborne raiders so efficient? Was there anything special about the Vikings on the battlefield? We will try to answer these questions by looking at their ships, weapons, equipment, and the sagas as well as how they were perceived by their contemporaries, victims, and otherwise. Karl’s special interest in military history overlaps with his interest in the Viking age which puts him in his element for this tour.

thanks, enjoy your talks & that each one looks at a different aspect of Viking life. it was hard to hear when the person speaking doesn't have the mic right by them, I suppose this is so you don't pick up back ground noise, But I missed a lot of what was being said when 3 shared a mic. I'll be joining more of your tours, as time goes on, as they are excellent.
