For 100 years, the heart of Montreal's largest cultural community has beaten loudest in this neighbourhood. Trendy cafés, yards overflowing with vegetables and fruit trees, prize-winning cannoli, and Canada's largest outdoor farmer's market contribute to making Little Italy a popular destination for visitors and Montrealers alike. Fran will take you on a memorable stroll in this area where the laid-back (think sports bars) and the jet set (think Ferrari) meet, where soccer is one of life's essentials, and the air is scented with the tantalizing smell of tomato sauce. Mamma mia!
The two most frequently asked questions Fran, a certified guide, hears on her tours are whether she is a native Montrealer and what her favourite “thing” about her city is. The answer to the first question is “yes”, and the answer to the second is “multiculturalism”, which, in her view, best defines Montreal. Sharing her enthusiasm and bragging about Montreal with visitors are what it’s all about. Although she has a penchant for great food (her mother is French after all!), history and architecture, what she enjoys most about guiding is the interaction with participants on her tours! Her wish is that you come away not so much with a tour or a lecture, but with a memorable experience.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Montreal with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Montreal. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Great tour of Montreal's Little Italy. I very much enjoy Francoise's tours and her knowledge and love for the city. I love being able to see my hometown and being able to virtually show it to my husband who recently moved here from the US. With covid restrictions we have not been able to visit or see family so having this platform and wonderful tours by fantastic guides like Francoise is awesome. So grateful for Heygo. Looking forward to seeing more of her tours :)
