Gastronomy represents the culture of La Paz, it tells a story behind its people, its festivals, its sorrows and its joys that translate it through various traditional dishes. But it also shows the world the great gourmet and signature food ventures that have come out to the world showing the local products that the city has and that have generated an economy of respect for the producer.


Meet Renan Ibanez

Renan Ibanez

Renan is a well known local guide in Bolivia. He has lead many group tours all over his country since 2002 showing its beautiful landscapes and history. He has contact with the deep native people from his country. History, Culture and Tradition are his areas of expertise, making him a perfect host of Bolivia. He will take us to places like La Paz, Lake Titicaca, and maybe even the famous salt flats! Join him to share his love for his mother country, enjoying knowledge and his sense of humour!


What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to La Paz with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from La Paz. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.


Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Thank you Renan, Paula and Doña Antonia for welcoming us to her home and teach us a traditional Bolivian dish. It looks really good! I loved the prt where the spicy sauce was made traditionally with stones. Hope you're able to post the recipe on the Facebook group so we can make it too. A place near my house opened up and they sell salteñas...wondering if showing how to make it would be of your interest in the future. Desserts would be amazing too :) Gracias!
