About the tour

La Médina de Tunis, inscrite au patrimoine universel depuis 1979, est le cœur de la ville, avec ses divers souks et bazars, couverts pour la plupart. Elle fût fondée vers la fin de VIIIè siècle par des tribus Arabes et a été étendu à travers les siècles pour englober des quartiers entiers où habitaient et habitent encore des ethnies différentes, entre Arabes, Juifs, maures andalous, noirs africains. La Médina offre de par sa structure de multiples facettes architecturales, à voir les moucharabiehs, les portes cloutées, les terrasses, les passages voûtés et arcs, en plus des fontaines, placettes, les mosquées, les mausolées, les Médersas, les cafés et surtout le souk des parfumeurs, le souk des chéchias, tout cela nous le traverserons dans notre visite pour vous faire mieux connaître la Médina. Meet MedTunis

MedTunis

Mohamed Halouani, Tunisian native. Mohamed transformed his profound passion for travel and history into a creative and diversified educational career, designing and carrying out multiple archaeological and cultural trips for various institutions such as The Detroit Institute of Art, the Textile Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, and many more organizations. After having received his degrees in English and Spanish, Mohamed completed his European Master's in linguistics and Hispanic studies at the Sorbonne University in Paris. He has extensive knowledge on Islamic architecture and Eastern decorative elements, as well as, archaeology and history. An excellent lecturer on ethnographic and anthropological subjects, he will introduce you not only to the historical jewels of Tunisia but he'll also reveal to you the culture and history. He is the Co-founder of the Tunisian Interprofessional Federation for Tourism and President of the Cultural Tourism in Tunisia.


What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Tunis & Carthage with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
