About the tour

In the XVIII century the King Philip V fell in love with the mountains outside of Segovia where he used to go hunting. He commissioned the construction of a beautiful palace and gorgeous gardens in the French, Italian and Spanish styles. Along with the King and the Queen came the Court and prominent families close to the monarchs. And the town of “Real Sitio de San Ildefonso”, or La Granja (“The Farm”) as it is usually called, started to develop into an important location both for the Royalty and noble people but also for the workers that came to work in the prestigious Royal Factory of Glass, that was founded there. The result was a charming and colorful town in the Guadarrama mountains, right outside of Segovia. Join me to admire both the manor houses but also the humble ones in a walk where the pastel colors of the façades and the beauty and quiet atmosphere of the place invite you to stay in La Granja forever.
