Join Kirsten as he takes a walk to his namesake Garden - explore plants, birds, and beautiful sights on the eastern foothills of Table Mountain. Much more than a garden, Kirstenbosch presents an opportunity to learn more about the unique nature, culture, and adventure of the Cape. Here we get to meet the unique Fynbos of the Cape Floral Kingdom. In case you thought you already knew Africa, we invite you to think again as you join Kirsten in the Mother City.
Kirsten spent his formative years in the Blyde River Canyon, Kruger National Park and the coastline of Southern Africa. He is tickled by the culture, nature, and adventure around him. He is curious of African culture and driven by the experiences and adventure that the continent presents. His passion to care for and guide visitors through the amazing, beloved, and fascinating regions of Africa is matched by his curiosity and interpretation of society and the environment at large. He loves hiking, bird watching, photography, reading, horse riding, wine tasting and surfing. Working in five languages, Kirsten holds an MBA where his research focussed on quality of service. His tourism career involves international experience of more than twenty years of guiding as a Naturalist, Field Guide, Nature Guide, Horse Safari Guide, White Water Rafting Guide, Dive Master and Tour Director.

The tour of the botanical garden was great. Kirfara gave us so many opportunities for great postcards, with tips for how to frame our photos to improve our shots. So many beautiful flowers, with interesting descriptions of this unique plant ecosystem. It was a pleasure to travel with Kirfara.

I stumbled upon the tour when I was early for another one I’m so glad I did! How absolutely gorgeous! I’ve been on several botanical gardens tours before and loved them, so I was curious about this location. Wow- and it was winter too! Just wonderful and Kirfara really knew his plants!

Stunning flowers and, as ever, captivating commentary from Kirsten. Returning to this tour time and again never deminishes the enjoyment. Missed that atmospheric harmonica sign off….
