Denise and Waverly Winchester are the Mom and Kid Team behind KidsnewsNYC. Waverly dreamed this idea up when she was just 7 years old so that kids would have an actual voice in reporting about people, places and things that are of interest to the kids themselves. It started with the question, "Mom, why is it always the MOMS doing the blogging and the reviews? Don't kids get to have a say in it? Can you make me a website so I can do it?" So, wanting Waverly to know that with enough hard work and determination, an idea can become reality, and without knowing the first thing about blogging, websites, who to connect with, etc., they got to work and created it, much to their own surprise. Four years later, they have grown far beyond our wildest dreams, covering countless events, Broadway shows, KidTerviewing movie and musical stars.... Denise and Waverly are THRILLED to become Virtual Guides so they can show families many of the wonderful experiences kids in NYC are lucky enough to have right outside their apartment buildings! They of course hope you visit NYC in person as soon as you can, but until then, please enjoy it alongside us on one of our tours!
Denise and Waverly has been guiding since Sep 2016
Get ready for something special. We're travelling to New York with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from New York. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.
For the best viewing experience, please join on a computer using Google Chrome.

My daughter LOVED visiting NYC for Waverly's tour! Waverly was a perfect hostess. My little one got all dressed up to attend and is looking forward to more tours with Waverly and Denise :)

My rating is because of the mother behind the camera. I was very disappointed that she made a comment about the DOLL not being able to eat carbs but the candies “didn’t count”. This is not only inappropriate for her own daughter to hear, but also the many young girls this live tour was broadcasting to. I think the tour would have been much better with a professional behind the camera.

I really enjoyed visiting Let's Dress Up with Waverly. She was super friendly and funny. She made me smile. The story time was great, and I liked having my hot chocolate while I listened. It looks like lots of fun, and New York looks like a super fun place. -Zoe, age 8

A fun, lighthearted tour of a beautiful location that I'll be sure to visit with my daughter in the future. I am confused by the negative review as this was clearly a "Kids Tour" and my daughter loved Waverly and her attention was held the entire time. This was due to both the structure of the tour and the banter between the mother, daughter, and commenters. I look forward to more tours with this awesome duo and so does my daughter!
