About the tour

We'll start from a spot where the Geodesic Mission originally came to find latitude zero. Join us at The Middle of the World Monument where we'll learn about the interesting mission for to find the Latitude Zero here in Ecuador. This is a touristic place where we can see different sights and goods of the beautiful country of Ecuador. We'll also see the Equator at zero latitude, where the Intiñan Museum is located. It's the official equatorial line calculated by GPS. You'll learn some scientific background about this place and enjoy cool experiments with water, weight, and an egg. Lastly, we'll see some traditional homes in the Andes and Amazon area and hear stories about how people live here in Ecuador.

Stefy was pleasant, easy to hear and understand and clearly loves her country. While I live in Iowa, USA, I've been to Quito several times and share her love of the place. Having said that, I'd have written the script for her presentation a bit differently, tightened up the presentation to cut some of the repetition, and stressed the main points of the history, the location, the importance and the uniqueness of the place on the equator. Sorry I couldn't give her a #1 rating. Maybe next time.

I learned so many cool things at Lat 0'0:0" - How the water is pulled down directly, how you wobble on Lat 0; how the egg balances. Steph was an excellent guide with a middle world of information. Really enjoyed her informative and fun tour.
