About the tour

Come inside Oklahoma's Jim Thorpe Museum to talk with the museum's curator, Justin Lenhart. Learn about the Native American, Jim Thorpe, whom the Associated Press named as the greatest all-around athlete of the first half of the 20th Century. See memorabilia from Thorpe's career as both the 1912 gold medal pentathlon and decathlon winner. Learn about the event that stripped him of his gold medal status. Find out about his career including his amazing contributions to both American baseball and football. See Paycom's Jim Thorpe Award, given to the best defensive back in college football based on performance on the field, athletic ability, and character. Finally, at the end of the tour, walk onto the museum's balcony to view the baseball field of the Oklahoma City Dodgers to learn a little bit about America's greatest pastime.
