About the tour

The African continent is very rich in minerals that add another dimension to the jewellery created. Afrogem, a famous Cape Town jewellery designed to reflect the famous Malay Quarter Bo-Kaap, for the first time kindly open its doors to virtual travels conducting us through an incredible journey that will take us through the history of several types of stones, gold, diamonds and tanzanite. We will talk about how buyers source precious stones from African mines and gold and diamonds only from South Africa. We will also focus on graded Tanzanites and diamonds loose stones, Tanzanite and diamond jewellery, precious and semi-precious jewellery and gemstones. We will access the owner's precious and semi-precious gemstones collection during the tour, which is the biggest in southern Africa. We will watch a 2 minutes video featuring Afrogem's and its skilled professionals. (The video will show how Afrogem's artisans work, but due to COVID regulations and security, we will be unable to conduct the tour in the laboratories). The final part of the tour will highlight the exquisite jewellery and stones range and focus on all your questions.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Cape Town with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Cape Town. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Antinio gave a fantastic tour that was novel in many ways! He chose a great place for the tour. The lady who co-led the tour was very informative, interesting and welcoming to the boutique and manufacturing business. A great way to learn and explore a remarkable area! Encourage others to attend!
