About the tour

Jazeerah Al Hamra is a secluded town on the coast of RAK, just 18 km outside of RAK City. It began as a coastal village established by, and central to, the Za’ab, or Hadhr (coastal Bedouin), tribe during the 14th century. As far back as the early 1800s, the town housed hundreds, and later thousands, of people many of whom worked as pearl divers, fishermen and coastal traders. JAH endured military and economic conflict with both the British and the Portuguese, while sustaining a steadily growing population and workforce.

Another brilliant trip with Ash. Love seeing a part of the UAE that I am not familiar with.

I am normally not bothered by technical issues. However, we literally couldn't hear a thing. A wind blocker would have been perfect to have at this location over the mic. A applaud Ashraf's effort in making this tour a great one and will visit again soon.

Interesting. There wasn't as much to see as I thought but Ashraf did a great job taking us through the area. A tiny note - I would suggest that the next time his friend comes, he stays behind the camera so he isn't in all of our photos. Not a complaint - probably just something he didn't think about.

I really enjoyed this. Ashraf gave us information about the site without overloading us. He responded quickly to questions and requests, and made it an informal and interesting tour. Thank you Ashraf!
