About the tour

When we talk about India, one of the things which India is really famous for is its flavorful and diverse food..Often we have misconceptions about Indian cooking and food like it is really time consuming and difficult, requires a lot of different ingredients, can't be done on your own and is very hot.. Through this tour, your host would be changing lot of perceptions about Indian cooking, India in general and you will be learning how to cook real authentic Indian food from your own home as you follow along step by step together where we make very famous Masala Chai and an Indian dish. You can ask any questions about Indian customs, culture, cuisines or local Delhi life which I will be more than happy to answer. Along with learning about India and its food, get ready to learn a little Hindi ( one of the most common languages in India). Here are the ingredients.. INGREDIENTS FOR MASALA CHAI FOR MAKING 1 CUP OF MASALA TEA: · 1 cup ofwater · ½ cup of milk ( any kind) ( optional) · Black tea · Sugar(1/2teaspoon)or according to the taste(optional) For making MASALA, the following spices are required: · Green cardamom (1 for 1 cup) · Cinnamon (little bit for 1 cup) · Black Pepper (around 4 to 6 or powdered black pepper will work too) · Cloves (around 1 clove for 1 cup) · Fresh Ginger (little amount) You can skip Cinnamon and cloves if you don’t find them INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING KADAI PANEER/TOFU For making 250 gram of Cottage cheese/Tofu: · 2 chopped redonions · 4 tomatoes · Little ginger, and 1 green chilli · 1 Capsicum (Bellpepper) · Oil(any type) ( 1 to 2 tbsp) · Spices- Salt, Red Chilli Powder, Dry coriander powder, Turmeric Powder Cumin seeds ( powder will also work), Garam Masala (if possible) · 2 tbsp Cream (optional) · Dry fenugreek leaves (optional) · Tofu/ Cottage cheese Kindly slice onions and capsicum before, cut cottage cheese/Tofu into cubes. We will make fresh tomato puree together, you just need an electric mixer.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Delhi with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Delhi. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.


Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.

Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
