Been a while since you’ve been able to just relax and hang out in your local café or coffee shop? Come hang out with me, at one of mine. This is more an experience tour than a walking, talking, telling you a lot of stuff tour. I will tell you a bit about where we are, Australian coffee history, and the place of cafés in Australian life – but otherwise, grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of morning at a local café.
Elizabeth is an American by birth, Australian by choice. She is a happy immigrant and resident of Sydney for nearly 21 years. Having been fascinated with Australia since she was 12, Elizabeth found that when she arrived in Sydney in 2000, she already knew more about her new home than many of the Australians she met. She finally put all that knowledge to work as a tour guide in 2019 – just in time to really fall in love with it before Covid hit. From the iconic sights that always take her breath away no matter how many times she’s seen them, like the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge, to the little-known but beautiful corners of the city, Elizabeth loves exploring Sydney and showing it off to friends and guests. She lives in Manly, on Sydney’s northern beaches. She’s been very slowly blogging her way through all 84 of Sydney’s beaches and is working on a travel memoir about riding her bicycle around Europe.
Elizabeth has been guiding since Jun 2019
Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Sydney with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Sydney. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Thank you for your invitation to join your for your morning coffee in your local coffee shop. It is interesting to hear the titbits about life locally in Australia. The start of the tour with the bats is lovely, you are fortunate indeed to have such a lovely walk before enjoying a coffee at the start of your day. I can recommend joining Elizabeth on her trips, she has a variety of different topics to offer and I always come away with a smile on my face. Thank you.

A nice relaxing visit to a neighbourhood cafe. Elizabeth talked about the cafe life in Sydney and we watched a demo of coffee making by the owner. Different coffee types were discussed and much more besides. Very interesting tour!

Did this tour because I can't visit in person. Great tour- got an upclose and personal look at a barista in action knowledgably narrated by Elizabeth. Can't wait for her other guided tours.
