This episode of the Hungarian countryside tours series takes you to one of the lesser-known hiking destinations of Hungary, the Valley of Sorrow. During this roughly 40 minutes long virtual walking and cycling tour Adam takes you to the outskirts of Esztergom, which is the birthplace of Hungary. The Valley of Sorrow is a largely overlooked fishing and hiking resort, tucked in between two hills so well that it managed to stay - mostly - untouched. And that is exactly the reason why Adam decided to take you there! The tour starts at the lakeside of the largest lake: Kerek-tó. While he walks a short stretch along the lake, we'll learn why the area got its name and how the fishing lakes were born. Unlike most of his tours, this time Adam will mostly remain quiet in order to let viewers experience the silence of nature. As always you can expect him to set up postcard-perfect moments at the lakesides! Sit back and relax! The most relaxing tour in Adam's tour portfolio will for sure help you to unwind.
Working as a tourist guide was not my first career choice, but it seems to be the right choice. For a while I followed a sort-of standard path: getting my bachelor, and my masters degree and started to work for a multinational company. Meanwhile my interest towards my hometown kept growing to the point that my friends convinced me to return to school and get my licence to become a tourist guide. As the saying goes: the rest is history. I have been in the business since 2011 and regardless of all the hardship, difficulties, uncertainty I still have passion for my profession. Which I hope will be obvious for you once you take a tour with me in Budapest, or in the Hungarian countryside. By joining a tour with me you will get two in one: a professional, licenced guide and an amateur urban photography enthusiast. Both are very handy when it comes to live, virtual tours. You can expect great angles, excellent postcard opportunities and a dry sense of humour during my tours as I strongly believe in entertaining while educating. Kind regards
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Esztergom with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 40 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Esztergom. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.
