About the tour

Take a walk back in time as we stroll through the streets of Ancient Dublin, the oldest part of the city, encompassing the area around Dublin Castle, Christ Church, and St Patrick’s Cathedral and taking in the old city walls. Start your trip to Dublin with a deeper understanding of the city’s ancient history by taking a step back in time at Dublinia, and explore the medieval features of the area and hear about the 1st Viking Settlement. Together, we'll walk parts of the Liberty's with over 800 years of history. If hunger hits while exploring the past, I'll take you to Dublin's oldest fish and chip shop, if we're lucky we might even see celebrities!

Meet Dave Kavanagh

Dave Kavanagh

Dave is a native of Dublin and has worked as a tour guide in Dublin for the last 2 years, his previous profession was in sales and marketing and he certainly has the gift of the gab. He lived in the U.S for 25 years and on his return to Dublin he found that there was a lot about his city that was previously unknown to him, so he set about getting reacquainted with all things Dublin, its culture, history, and its people along with all its famous landmarks. Dave's passion is tour guiding and showing off Dublin's fair city to visitors. He is the owner of Dublin Rogues Tour a walking tour set in Merrion Square, Dublin showcasing Irish writers, artists, politicians, rebels, and freedom fighters.

I lost sound and movement for a short time but on the whole I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wanted to be there with him.
