About the tour

During the five-year Nazi occupation of the Netherlands, the majority of Dutch citizens survived by cooperating with their occupiers. Lay low, follow orders, wait it out, survive... Approximately 5% of the population, however, could not simply turn a blind eye as their fellow Amsterdammers were sent off to work in German factories, or much worse – to an extermination camp. What would YOU have done in that time, considering all the risks? On this tour, we consider various points of view and cover the main questions regarding the Dutch resistance. Who participated and how many were saved? What were the outcomes of various resistance attempts? What effects do the actions of the past have on current society? We will visit numerous unlikely locations where heroic acts occurred by regular people risking everything, from mass uprisings to individual acts of compassion.

A harrowing history sensitivity narrated by Lee. Learnt so much. It’s amazing how so many stories from this time are still not widely known.
