Hello all virtual travellers. During my Tours on Heygo and on Facebook I get a lot of questions about living in the Netherlands, the best places to visit, but also a lot of personal questions. On this tour, I am giving you the chance to ask anything you want or to give suggestions for new tours you’d like to see in the Netherlands. We will have a chat while I show you the best parts of a Dutch breakfast, brunch, or lunch. So you can eat while watching and ask everything about cheese, bread, cheese, bread and cheese and bread (Do Dutch people eat something else?). This can be in my new apartment or in one of my favorite cafes in the city. Hope to chat with you soon.
Stephan is a real Dutchie, he was born in Delft (the city of Vermeer), grown up in Gouda (the cheese city), studied in Leiden (city of Rembrandt) and he lived in Rotterdam (the harbour city) before moving to our capital Amsterdam in 2006. After a career in technology as an Online Strategist, he decided to leave behind the corporate world to start guiding visitors of Amsterdam and started his own private tour agency, Amsterdam Experiences. That’s when he discovered that walking and cycling around the city with international visitors is a lot more fun than a desk job! As a guide, Stephan loves to show his virtual guests the hidden gems of Amsterdam through the eyes of a local. He has a passion for telling stories about Dutch history and culture. Stephan is very enthusiastic about the Netherlands and also guides tours in Delft, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden and Den Hague. Stephan’s tours cover a wide range of topics, whether that be sensitively tackling difficult subjects, such as Anne Frank and Jewish history of Amsterdam. However, he is equally comfortable being spontaneous, whether visiting goats in a goat farm to riding his orange flowerbike around with the flowerbike man himself. Stephan also now has tours in Belgium, covering Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. So join him on the bike or by foot, and see the highlights of the Netherlands or even perhaps Belgium.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Amsterdam with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Amsterdam. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Stephan made the conversation about his typical Dutch breakfast simple yet interesting by showing his favorite bread, cheese, and toppings. I have eaten the infamous Gouda cheese many times but never knew that the flavor of Gouda cheeses can vary widely depending on age. So that was my best fact takeaway. I also enjoyed the serene green setting in which he sat and told personal stories about his wife, travels abroad, and the challenges in doing virtual tours. Thank you for sharing!

How fun to learn lot more about Stephan! In the past few months I've seen Stephan's face more than I have seen my actual friends lol I really hope to visit Amsterdam one day and meet him in person. He's such a kind guy and so great that he opens up to us voyagers and share his life, stories, and dutch culture. Truly admirable. Hope he does more of this type of tours.

I went in knowing he wasn't doing an actual tour and that is OKAY. But I was worried that he didn't get to eat his brunch as to be polite and respectful to his audience. It was nice to get to know Stephan; and see/hear the person behind the gimble. Loved how he shared how he got into the business and how he met his wife; which was a thing that had caught my eye- he was wearing a wedding ring! And on the last tour given by him- one of his tulip adventures- he wasn't. THANK YOU, Stephan for the opportunity to get to know you better.
