About the tour

Cycle this beautiful city with Mark and get around town like a local. He has a number of walking tours in Haarlem that focus on a specific area or a topic and decided to do a 'highlights by bike' tour for those of you who what an overview of this lovely small city. On this tour you see how crazily beautiful Haarlem is and you get a taster of the other tours so you can decide which one to go on for more detail about that area or topic. The tour has no fixed route but each time but will include some, or perhaps all, of the following: a cycle along the Spaarne river and a view of the Molen de Adriaan, Haarlem's urban windmill. A quick look in at the main square, the Grote Markt. A restful ride through at least one of Haarlem's gorgeous parks. The tour is not going to be cycling the whole time. There will be stops to show you gorgeous, tiny, tucked away alleys, so you get the best of both worlds: the freedom of the city by bike, as well as some slower parts and great postcard opportunities! Mark does not hold the gimbal in his hand while cycling as he has made a body harness for the gimbal that makes for a smoother image. As far as wind goes, he has made a contraption where he uses a helmet with a face mask that shields the mic from the wind. He freely admits that this looks a quite ridiculous but, happily, doesn't give a two hoots about that! What is important is that the sound it great, even if the wind is strong!
