Discover the Goat farm Ridammerhoeve in the Amsterdam Woods A true hidden gem in the heart of the Amsterdam Forest is the Goat farm Ridammerhoeve. A charming organic farm where visitors can meet with the goats, lambs, chickens, pigs, cows, and horses and where you can buy Amsterdam's best goat cheese. The farm is closed to the public at the moment, but we can still take a look especially for us. Fun and educational for the whole family. It is spring, so there are certainly newborn lambs among the 100 or so adult goats that we can get a closer look at. What exactly we get to see every tour besides the goats is a surprise. We may watch how the goats are milked in a friendly way, take a look in the cheese cellar or see how the pigs take a mud bath. Every tour is different!
Stephan is a real Dutchie, he was born in Delft (the city of Vermeer), grown up in Gouda (the cheese city), studied in Leiden (city of Rembrandt) and he lived in Rotterdam (the harbour city) before moving to our capital Amsterdam in 2006. After a career in technology as an Online Strategist, he decided to leave behind the corporate world to start guiding visitors of Amsterdam and started his own private tour agency, Amsterdam Experiences. That’s when he discovered that walking and cycling around the city with international visitors is a lot more fun than a desk job! As a guide, Stephan loves to show his virtual guests the hidden gems of Amsterdam through the eyes of a local. He has a passion for telling stories about Dutch history and culture. Stephan is very enthusiastic about the Netherlands and also guides tours in Delft, Utrecht, Rotterdam, Gouda, Leiden and Den Hague. Stephan’s tours cover a wide range of topics, whether that be sensitively tackling difficult subjects, such as Anne Frank and Jewish history of Amsterdam. However, he is equally comfortable being spontaneous, whether visiting goats in a goat farm to riding his orange flowerbike around with the flowerbike man himself. Stephan also now has tours in Belgium, covering Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. So join him on the bike or by foot, and see the highlights of the Netherlands or even perhaps Belgium.
