About the tour

One of our visitors described the Haute Goat Shmurgle as: "the joyful sound your heart makes when you snuggle a baby goat"... its that and so much more. Snuggles, cuddles, hugs - all the things that our goats love to do, but we make it into a whole experience by taking the goats walking through our fields in any weather. We end up in the Goat Playground where everyone hangs out with the goats, lots of time for bonding with our little goaties. Our goal is for visitors and viewers to connect with our little goats and come away with a warm feeling in your heart. We dare you to leave without a smile on your face - or maybe you won't leave at all!

Meet Farmer Debbie@HauteGoat

Farmer Debbie@HauteGoat

Farmer Debbie wasn't always a farmer. She was born in Toronto and spent most of her life there. She spent many years as a tv producer with her own company, was the Founding Executive Director of the Hot Docs Festival, helped to grow the Toronto Film Festival's Industry Centre. As much as she loved that industry, she has always been incredibly passionate about animals. So when her husband suggested they buy a farm outside the city, she jumped at the opportunity and never looked back. They bought their first farm in 2007. By 2009 they had 4 goats, 5 horses, a whole bunch of chickens and a few dogs and cats. What Shain and Debbie discovered is that whenever they mentioned having goats, friends, families and others pleaded to visit. The visitors came - and numbers grew like crazy. These days their Haute Goat Shmurgle and Alpaca Knuffle Shuffle are signature events at the farm. Visitors go hiking with the goats (total chaos) and end up in the Goat Playground snuggling, shmurgling and loving on the goats.....or go walking with the Alpacas in an incredibly tranquil, calming journey. We also have Icelandic Horses, an goofy big mule named Lucy Mae Belle and 3 Tornjak livestock dogs. Haute Goat is a place to really engage with animals in a very different way.

Lots of fun! Learn quite a bit. Difficulty with sound for a while before corrected or I could have given a 5.
