We will take a leisurely river walk from Dublin's present back to Ireland's past. Ever wondered how Bachelor's Walk got it's name? Or how far some people had to walk to try and escape The Great Famine?
Hazel loves exploring and regaling people with stories and giving a glimpse into the city known for its love of cheeky rhymes and ballads. Her background is in the travel and tourism industry in Ireland, and she has juggled roles ranging from tutor to travel agent. Travelling has always been in her blood. Hazel’s grandfather was a driver-guide, and her interest in becoming a guide started almost a decade ago when she took a group of excited students on a walking tour of Dublin, captivating them with the city’s culture. Since then, there has been no turning back. With her tours, you might find yourself mingling with the locals, who love to get involved with the tour! With a dash of surprise, Hazel loves entertaining people with fun stories and experiences. “An unforgettable experience that I had was when myself and a friend got chatting with a well-known Irish author and we ended up back at his house cooking spaghetti Bolognese!” she says. She is the owner of Virtually Irish, a new and exciting venture showcasing the best of what Ireland has to offer.

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Dublin with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.
The tour will last about 30 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Dublin. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

She seemed to talk more about the wind and weather than the tour

Weather was difficult, but she managed the camera well. Lovely lady. Wanted more history about the trip itself ie; a few people that went and how they survived and turned out at the other end, what they faced when they arrived, where they stayed, who helped them..

Hazel kept the tour interesting. I loved the information about EPIC and seeing the famine memorial sculptures. Well done, especially in all that wind! Thank you!
