About the tour

Let’s combine observation of flowers and the impressive stainless steel Motherland Statue. We’ll begin our tour with the garden part which showcases a lot of beautiful floral compositions. The garden is called “Song Festival Field” and it’s always full of flowers. The kinds of flowers, their colors, and patterns are changed accordingly to the season. Kyiv authorities take the time and money to make this space beautiful. Then we’ll go to the epic and powerful place where you’ll see one of the highest monuments in the world (102 m - 335ft). The stunning colossal Motherland statue represents the unshakable moral spirit of the Soviet warriors in WW2. The tour will be full of amazing panoramic and floral views.

Although I understand the reasoning, with the attractions being so near each other, this was an odd juxtaposition of the almost childishly innocent floral compositions in the park with the Motherland Monument to Ukraine's devastating WW2 history. Neither is probably enough for a tour on its own, so yes, it does make sense. Poor Olga was dogged by connectivity problems. I was glad we did get to see the Hall of Heroes (I'm not sure if I just made up that name!) at the end, but Olga will probably not include it in future as the signal was too poor. Sweet and engaging tour guide - sorry she had problems.
