About the tour

Filoli celebrates the gifts of edible, medicinal, and pollinator plants with a vibrant display of fruits, vegetables, and herbs for this summer's horticultural exhibit Fruitful Garden. Tag along on this final part of the Fruitful Garden Tour with Willa Brock, Filoli's Interpretation Manager, and Dani Hielscher, Digital Media Specialist, to learn about the medicinal and pollinator plants on display. Together, you'll look for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators enjoying the acres of beauty in Filoli's formal Garden. Learn more about the Fruitful Garden at https://filoli.org/explore/fruitful-garden/ All donations will go directly to Filoli's Annual Fund, supporting this historic Estate's greatest needs. The Annual Fund makes the entire Filoli experience possible! From the routine care and maintenance of the property and our collections to exhibitions and public programs that engage visitors every season. Learn more at https://filoli.org/support/ways-to-give/

Meet Filoli

Located 30 miles south of San Francisco, Filoli is nestled on a slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains and surrounded by more than 23,000 acres of the protected Peninsula watershed. To the two families who lived here, Filoli represented a desire to create a magnificent and enduring country estate. The first owner William Bourn dubbed it Filoli (pronounced "Fie-low-lee"), a made-up word drawn from the first letters of his personal motto: "FIght for a just cause; LOve your fellow man; LIve a good life. Nice to see the occasional pollinator in action! A nice substitute for seeing a distant garden and not on foot!
