You find yourself visiting Melbourne with your partner and you'd like to know where would be a nice place to take them. Under any circumstance, you'd be left wondering and researching. Though now you can tune in to this Romance Special and learn of all the nicest and most romantic things you can do with your partner in Melbourne, which is the Love Capital of Australia. Alexander, an Aussie Melbourne local, is quite a romantic at heart and would love to invite you to a virtual date where he will show you some nice spots to visit, covering all budgets, and unique activities you can do in Melbourne to make it that little bit more special. Things only a true local can give you insight into! Be ready for an enchanting and alluring evening 🌹
Alexander wants to live in a world filled with appreciation for other cultures, free travel and guacamole as a global currency (we’re allowed to dream right?!). “Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. Whether it’s in the form of acting, writing or showing people around my captivating city. It feels great to express my passions in so many different ways” Alex says, while sipping on a decaf soy latte (a very common beverage in Melbourne, also known as Australia's coffee capital). Alexander believes that it would be a waste and disservice to his fellow humans to not show them around his backyard (well, not his actual backyard, but you get the picture). He’s dedicated to sharing his city’s beauty and history, and once and for all proving to people that kangaroos don’t just bounce around everywhere. Alexander has been running tours for the last 4 years, with his most popular tour being Melbourne’s Hidden Penguins (there you go, saved you a trip to Antarctica!). When he is not touring, Alexander works as an actor, filmmaker and blog writer.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Melbourne with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Melbourne. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Romantic tour. Great singing by Alex. (Falsetto too!) Totally enjoyable. Highly recommended. Sit back, relax, sing along, while learning about romantic Melbourne.

Really great tour. Lots of places to go in Melbourne, loved the music in the background as well as the scenery.

What a great first date! Another creative tour idea delivered in absolute perfection by Alex. Especially enjoyed the different ideas you presented - from a simple picnic or a walk around the alleyways with a gelato to a boat trip and a cocktail bar - very varied and something for everyone. And the music was great as well! But the best thing was our guide - your fun mood and your enjoyment was so touchable you just had to have fun on this tour! Thanks a lot, Alex - to hopefully more perfect follow-up dates!

I think it should have been called “very expensive bars and restaurants to take a date”. The prices quoted were way more expensive than the cosmopolitan area where I live.

Hi Bernadette, thanks for your review. I'm sorry you thought this tour was on the expensive side, although I did also included affordable suggestions such as a picnic, walking down the Yarra River and buying ice cream and strolling through the laneways. I also mentioned that people can head to the Transit rooftop bar for a drink, walk along South Melbourne beach or visit the National Gallery of Victoria (which is free). So while you may think this tour should have been called "very expensive bars and restaurants to take a date", the reality is that I did my best to include ideas and dates for all budgets. Thank you. Alex
