The tour will take place in one of the rural centre areas of Njokolerwa (name derived: "where you work from") located in Wakiso district about 20Km from the capital centre- Kampala. We will explore the existing swamp area and crops grown in a rich green surrounding with a mixture of streams and ponds. We will also see some of the garden community projects. The walk starting through the town centre will start with a saloon exhibition hair cut to show some of the youth enterprises for self employment generally in Uganda, to showing how new rural towns start to reach the standard of the fast paced developed centres wanted by the working class years later. Then we will slope into a new area to understand how an area develops into housing to exploring the swamp gardens supporting several crops for community food and business. It will be interesting to see this built surrounding green infrastructure mix of nature and development.
