About the tour

We will start at Republic Square of the city of Yerevan . Yerevan is the 12th capital of Armenia, the city has changed a lot in the last 100 years. Although Yerevan has been an old city of 2802 years of history it became the capital only in 1918 . We will have a nice walk through the city centre and enjoy the architecture of the buildings of Yerevan . Here in Republic Square there are nice ensemble of buildings like the Museum of Armenian History and National Gallery. On the left is the government building, with the post office right next to it . On the opposite side we will see 2 other nice buildings : one of them is a hotel the other is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA. We will then start to walk northeast to Cascade . On the way we will take a look at the buildings of Northern Avenue and the Opera House. After 20 minutes of walk we will get to The Cascade: it's a nice artificial waterfall built in the 1980s. Walking up the steps (there are 520 steps!) we will get a perfect view of the city centre with Mt. Ararat in the background . We will have a nice journey - come join me!

Meet Khach Mirzoyan

Khach Mirzoyan

Khach's hometown is just 30 km southwest of Yerevan- the capital of Armenia. After graduating highschool he got into the State Pedagogical University of Yerevan and studied in the faculty of history, because he was interested in both the history and culture of Armenia as well as others. Due to this, guiding was just a perfect opportunity to make his wish come true! Khach has been guiding groups of tours in Armenia since 2013, he enjoys his job very much! He has the opportunity to represent his country, give them information and learn a lot from the guests about their own culture and traditions.

This is my first visit to a section of Yerevan city and within 45 minutes I got a good sense of and feel for the city. I learned fascinating stories from guide Khach. Albeit his first time doing a virtual tour for HG, I was impressed by his composure and thought he did remarkably well. He was engaging with the guests and I enjoyed that. The GH voyagers too made my experience enjoyable by posting nuggets of information. Khach, keep it up. Hope to join you again.

What an interesting tour, so well done by a new, talented guide! It was a window into a country I knew nothing about! Still more to learn, I know. Khach dealt with the questions on the chat so well and was gracious with people who obviously thought they knew more than he did! Well done ✔✔
