About the tour

Our virtual tour begins from the white-sand, surfing beach of Avoca. You may have heard about Sydney's famous Bondi Beach, well, Bondi doesn't compare to this lesser-known seaside gem. This beach is a popular destination for Sydney’s wealthy and more discerning holidaymakers. At this location, Matt shares his insights into Australian surfing culture and the unwritten laws of the southern ocean. There's more surprises just around the corner! Our walk explores jewel-like tide pools teeming with marine life. Feel like a closer look? You're viewing from a camera mounted on a giant "selfie stick", so you can peer into the centre of the pools and get up close to the marine life. It's here that you will experience the most breathtaking coastline you've ever seen! Darting swallows and swooping pelicans dot the blue Australian sky here. A closer look at the rock platform reveals petrified marine life and shells embedded in the brightly coloured sandstone. The end of our walk, the climax, is a dramatic view overlooking the powerful surf smashing against craggy headlands. This coastal terrain walk reveals Australian nature at its best. **This is not a geology or history tour, but a snapshot of a Sydney holiday destination. ** **Please note: As this is a nature tour, the itinerary can change due to adverse weather and environmental conditions. I rarely cancel and prefer to instead change my route. **

After a tour with Matt, many describe their experience as akin to travelling with a long-lost Australian cousin.

Very relaxing. Made a change from having to concentrate on all the descriptions and details. Time to take in the beautiful coastal scenery. Reminded me of how much I need to revisit and explore again.
