About the tour

The history of Ueno’s black-market dates back to the post-war reconstruction period, offering a variety of goods. Since then, Tokyo, and by extension Ueno, has become an international metropolis and the energetic hustle and bustle from that century is no longer the same in the city. Nowadays, who are the people who live and work here, who come and gather and spend their time in Ueno? The former Tokyo, the Tokyo that is now lost, does Tokyo’s urban development change the way you can enjoy this wonderful view and its atmosphere? From boutiques, bars, hotels, restaurants to office buildings, family homes, even dodgy shops, you name it, you can find absolutely everything in this city. This is not your stereotypical and generic sightseeing tour. Join Tsunenobu and dive deep into today’s vibrant Ueno. Together, let’s discover the new possibilities online!

Brilliant guide!Tokyo is breathtaking in many ways! In fact the whole Japan, it's people and culture are a different universe that everyone who has the opportunity should visit at least once in a lifetime. There is so much to learn from this nation.. Place would be better place if all countries had a little bit of Japan in them, I really mean it. Arigato (thank you) to local guide who made this experience incredible and brought Japan closer to us all who watched the stream!

Really interesting tour around the Tokyo that locals know. Market stalls, shops, small temples. The very best part was Ebisuya's infectious enthusiasm and joy to show us the sights. Still smiling 😃
