Join your guide for a walk along the seafront in St Peter Port, starting from the Liberation Monument celebrating 50 years of freedom. See where half the population were evacuated from, hear about the monuments to remember the fallen and see where the liberating forces landed after 5 long years of occupation. Hear your guides' personal family accounts of these times. Walk through the fascinating cobbled streets, steps and alleyways and soak up the history. Walk past the medieval harbour and see where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert arrived on a surprise visit. Find out more about these special islands, with their own Parliament and not part of the UK, originally French but now British, a lovely combination of both French and British heritage.
Born and bred in Guernsey, after a career in hospitality I became fascinated by our long and colourful history. Becoming a tour guide was a natural step and I enjoy showing locals and visitors around the island and the smaller Channel Islands near by on foot or in transport.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Guernsey with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Guernsey. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

Loved the movie, loved the tour! Gill gave a wonderful insight to Guernsey and the impact of WWII and German occupation on its residents. Seeing the harbour and hearing the stories makes watching the movie more meaningful.
