Beginning at the Gas Works building, an iconic Belfast landmark with a rich history, this tour explores the murals, the architecture, the troubled past, and fascinating people who have made this part of the city their home. Many hours of research have gone into packaging a detailed, informative, interesting, and well-balanced account of the area with a mix of cultural, political, and social references, stories, and anecdotes that combine to paint a picture in an informative and entertaining way. With all its current diversity of culture, the Ormeau Road offers so much for locals and visitors to discover on this tour; from its industrial past through conflict to its regeneration into the thriving thoroughfare which it has now become.
My name is Rory and I am a qualified tour guide and a member of Tour Guides Northern Ireland. I have been involved in the Travel and Tourism industry for 35 years as a travel agent, a holiday representative abroad, and a tour guide. I have worked with some of the biggest companies such as Thomas Cook, Airtours, Expedia, and Titanic Belfast where I received an award for outstanding customer service from the CEO. I love my country and hope you can all join me on one of my tours of Belfast and I will share my knowledge and passion of my homeland with you.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Belfast with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Belfast. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.

I love listening to Rory's stories of Ireland's struggles. He is a very knowledgeable guide and takes the time to answer questions, he allows plenty of time for postcards, I like the way he counts down. A tip on occasions maybe turn the phone for horizontal postcards where appropriate. A lifesaver during severe lockdown, I highly recommend this tour and am looking forward to further travels with Rory.

Loved seeing the Ormeau Road and learning some of Belfast's history. Rory is a wonderful story teller who also happens to know quite a bit of history that he shared with everyone throughout his tour. Just taking Rory's tour made me want to visit Belfast to see these sights and have a pint of Guinness. Thank you Rory for fascinating tour!
