Meet Invisible Cities - Paul

Invisible Cities - Paul

Paul is Invisible Cities's first tour guide to offer tours on Heygo. An Edinburgh local himself, he is passionate about making people discover his city in a unique way. He is also a mentor to other local guides helping people who have experienced homelessness become walking tour guides of their own city. Invisible Cities is a multi-award-winning social enterprise that trains people who have been affected by homelessness to become walking tour guides of their own city. With walking tours in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and York, they give people a voice and opportunities to thrive within the tourism sector. Each of their guides are passionate about their city and want the world to discover all the gems and unknown stories that make them so special. The not for profit supports people with training, skill development but also access to wider professional and educational opportunities and organises events in their local communities to support the most disadvantaged people. Paul, is one of Invisible Cities' guides based in Edinburgh.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Edinburgh with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Edinburgh. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Paul battled the heavy rain to show us these beautiful plants. Much appreciated your determination.

Paul was a real trouper showing us the botanic garden under strong rain. It was nice to be in his company rediscovering one of my favourite haunts. Well done, PAUL.

Paul is an AWESOME guide! I love his sense of humor and all the history he shares during a tour. I also love his accent and only rarely have any difficulty understanding him. Today it took me a while to understand karate, but I got it. Love Paul and his tours hope to one day take him for a few pints.
