About the tour

Edam is a peach of a Dutch town, so quaint and photogenic with its tiny houses and draw bridges and canals with great reflections and superb postcard moments. On this tour Mark will walk you around town finding great views and telling tidbits of history. You get to go inside a typical cheese shop and the cutest candy store imaginable. Also on the tour is a visit inside the huge church, the 'Grote Kerk' church on the edge of the town and see the serene space of a typical Reformed church from the 1600s. Hopefully there will also be a quick visit inside the oldest museum in North Holland, a merchant's house from the 1500s with a floating cellar! I've listed this as 45 minutes but I think it might run over a little, it's hard to know on a new tour.

Meet Mark - That Dam Guide

Mark - That Dam Guide

Mark has been sharing places and stories about Amsterdam, his adopted home, for 10 years now and he is still smitten by the place! He absolutely loves distilling chunks of history into bite-sized bits of fun. The vibrancy of the city takes his breath away, and he loves finding odd little details to share. Live-streaming tours are an exciting adventure as it is possible to open places and areas that are not accessible on in-person tours!

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Edam with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Edam. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
