About the tour

A traditional Mallorquin village, nowadays Port de Soller has become an important claim for visitors and foreign residents. It covers the sea area of the popular Orange Valley in Mallorca. In the past it played an important role as the only natural harbour on the NorthWest coast and the base of maritime commerce, especially with France. Recently it was digitally trending as the scenery of several film shootings, such as Cloud Atlas. Throughout History this village was in itself isolated from the rest of the island because of the surrounding mountains. This resulted in a unique economic and sociocultural development. Even the language in Soller is different from the rest of Mallorca. I will take you on a lovely walking tour and then we will take a 10 minutes ride on a unique wooden tram along Soller Bay and its spectacular port. Jump on!

We were on the tram for 5 mins. The tour guide did her best but there was little substance to work from.

Interesting information from Pilar, however may I suggest if you start to tell us something, please finish it and not say ‘ I’ll tell you later’. I can’t remember all the things you started, or if you finished them!! Enjoyed the tram ride, though. Thank you, Pilar.
