About the tour

Artistic expression has always existed in Senegal and comes in different forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, dance, video art painting on fiberglass and sour glass, etc ... Today Dakar has become an essential place of African art with the biennial of contemporary arts which has been organized there since 1992 with renowned artists. Elsewhere in the country anonymous artists produce magnificent works. I, therefore, invite you to discover one of them in Mbour in his painting workshop

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

Excellent tour of local artists while they're creating and a view of gallery with completed works. The guide gave thorough info, providing postcard moments and translating for the artists as necessary. I wish our guide was readily able to answer inevitable inquiries as to how the artists can be contacted about selling their work. However that process works, hopefully future tours with these excellent artisans will have info avlbl for interested tourists.
