About the tour

Orthodox monasteries have been built in very picturesque places and are visited by a lot of people. Cozia is one of the oldest and best known monasteries in Romania, situated between the Olt, an important tributary to the Danube, and the national road leading to Transylvania. The region is rich in curative mineral water sources, centered in the resorts of Calimanesti and Caciulata, in the immediate vicinity of Cozia. From Cozia short cruises are offered on the Olt river to the above mentioned resorts. The monastery itself is worth visiting, as it has the remarkable architecture of the 14th century. The 18th century has also added its typical loggia and stone masonry ornaments at the windows (Brancoveanu style). Beautiful paintings in the fresco technique!

Mihai/I Travel in Romania

I feel so lucky to be able to be part of Heygo platform, especially during these times. It has been a great opportunity to do again what I love most, which is guiding, and interact with great people from all over the world. I have always been very much attracted by all the WW1 & WW2 documentaries on History Channel and still am nowadays. Having the opportunity to share the history, the still living traditions and the beauty of my country to travelers from all over the world is like a dream come true.
