Join Heather to experience the old seafaring city of Copenhagen as it should be seen, from the water. She’ll greet you close to the Danish royal palace at Amalienborg, and from there take you right up to date as she steps on board one of the new battery powered boats which traverse the sparingly clean harbour. Copenhagen is a dynamic city full of contrasts and we’ll find out how it hopes to become the first carbon neutral capital in the world in 2025. It’s also the fairytale capital of world and we’ll get to hear about Denmark’s most famous son - Hans Christian Andersen and pass by some of the places that he lived and was inspired by. The city has fantastic architecture, design, a rich and vibrant seafaring history and as we disembark from the boat you’ll discover the colourful harbourside of Nyhavn, the perfect place for some comforting ‘hygge’ (cosiness) to chase the winter lockdown blues away.
Heather’s enthusiasm for living in Denmark infuses her historical, design, and sustainability tours of Copenhagen and the surrounding areas with vivid storytelling, fun and facts. Heather’s been a popular guide in Copenhagen for eight years, and has also written novels and exhibits her photography. At the moment, she’s focusing on how Copenhagen hopes to become one of the first carbon-neutral capital cities in the world in 2025, and has just added the -CO2penhagen tour to her WWWalks app. You’ll just love her groovy new experiences to which find out why Denmark is such a green and pleasant land!
