Australia is known for 3 things: hipsters, inconsistent weather and the world's most delicious caramel slices! In this segment of Cooking Down Under, Alex will step aside and let his partner Liv take over. She will be sharing her secret recipe and showing us all how to make the world's simplest and most mouthwatering caramel slices. Alex will vouch they are unlike anything he has ever tasted (getting hungry writing this now!). It should be a fun experience full of laughs, banter and learning (so have a notepad handy!). Now you'll have something to serve your Aussie friends when they come to visit. They will love you for it! See you then!
Alexander wants to live in a world filled with appreciation for other cultures, free travel and guacamole as a global currency (we’re allowed to dream right?!). “Storytelling has always been a passion of mine. Whether it’s it in the form of acting, writing or showing people around my captivating city. It feels great to express my passions in so many different ways” Alex says, while sipping on a decaf soy latte (a very common beverage in Melbourne, also known as Australia's coffee capital). Alexander believes that it would be a waste and disservice to his fellow humans to not show them around his backyard (well, not his actual backyard, but you get the picture). He’s dedicated to sharing his city’s beauty and history, and once and for all proving to people that kangaroos don’t just bounce around everywhere. Alexander has been running tours for the last 4 years, with his most popular tour being Melbourne’s Hidden Penguins (there you go, saved you a trip to Antarctica!). When he is not touring, Alexander works as an actor, filmmaker and blog writer.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Melbourne with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Melbourne. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.
