If you come to Rome, you can't miss the Colosseum. It is one of the most, if not the most, iconic Roman monument still standing today. On this tour with Sara, we will focus on the history and archaeology of the spectacular amphitheatre, also known as the Flavian amphitheatre. Built in 72 a.d by the Flavian family and completed in only 8 years by the Jewish slaves, it was a real stadium dedicated to the gladiatorial fights, animal hunts and public executions. Although it is not possible to go inside of the Colosseum, Sara will show you this main symbol of Rome and its imposing construction that, with almost 2,000 years of history, will bring you back in time to discover the way of life in the Roman Empire. Join us in this wonderful journey back in time!

Sara was amazing as the tour was during a thunderstorm and she was still happy to answer questions and provide information regarding the Colosseum. We got some great postcards.

Thank you Sara for braving through the rain and bad weather to give us a tour of the Colosseum, a place that I'm very interested in visiting some day. She was great with the information and I appreciate the pictures, as it helps me better picture what it was like back then. I also applaud Sara for shutting down a very disruptive person who kept asking irrelevant questions, as they are distracting for both the guide and tour goers. 👏 👏 👏 It made my day. Otherwise, Sara is very friendly and accommodating. Grazie mille!
