About the tour

Come and join me for an early morning walk along the Colca Canyon. Of course the weather is beyond our control because it's still raining in the Andes but we'll look for clear. Let's appreciate one of the deepest Canyon in the World and maybe some birds that live in their natural habitat.

Meet your local guide

Elizabeth Puma

Elizabeth was born and raised in the Colca Canyon area. She is very proud of her ancestors because her grandmother comes from the Pre-incas Civilization. She moved to Arequipa city as soon she finished high school because, in her small town, there weren't any University or Institutes. There, she studied history, culture, customs and the traditions of her country. She started guiding tours in 2008 and loves preparing new tours about everything from history to geology, volcanology and birding. She really enjoy showing people her country and loves to learn about other cultures as well. Join Elizabeth as she shows you the white city and it's surroundings, there is so much to see!

Elizabeth Puma has been guiding since Sep 2008

What to expect

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Arequipa. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour youโ€™ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the guide's hard work, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

Beautiful scenery and very dedicated guide! Elizabeth answered all questions and covered a good range of information about the mountains, animals, and indigenous history.

I really enjoyed Elizabeth's tour even though we were not lucky enough, on this occasion, to see any Condors. She and her daughter totally made up for that. I'm looking out for her future tours.

Elizabeth, thankyou for giving us these amazing views. We did at least glimpse a couple of condors, but the views were superb.

A fantastic tour with a fantastic guide (and her daughter). The most amazing scenery and many, many condors! Should be rated 6!

What a beautiful place Elizabeth showed us. The scenery was exceptional but the icing on the cake was seeing condors swirling around (six at one point!) and even gliding over us. What a treat! Apparently we were exceptionally lucky to see so many for such a long time. Thank you Elizabeth for a wonderful experience. I loved it!
