About the tour

Join Sara as she recreates a favourite Challah recipe from her Canadian family traditional. We will prepare this versatile egg bread dough and learn braiding techniques. Ingredient list: 2 1/2 cups (600 ml) warm water 1 tbsp yeast 1/2 cup (120 ml) liquid honey 1/3 cup (80 ml) vegetable oil 2 large eggs 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp salt 8 cups (960 g) all purpose flour

Sara Brodsky

Sara is a home cook who ran her own cooking school for a large grocery chain and more recently in a high-end home appliance store. Sara uses her love of cooking and baking to inspire children, teens and adults with recipes drawn from her family, Jewish tradition and Canadian flavours. Join Sara for delicious recipes, easy to follow instruction, good humour and a fun and casual introduction to many favorite Jewish and Canadian kitchen classics.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Calgary with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.

The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Calgary. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.


Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

What a wonderful tour /cooking class. And the recipe was super easy to follow. I made a Challah bread right after the class and it came out perfect so much so we could not stop eating it. Looking for to attending some more of Sara's classes
