Janet

Janet has worked as a tour guide in the Burren region in the west of Ireland for more than 18 years, spending every Summer guiding people around this amazing protected landscape. In 2008 she started offering tours of the locations from Father Ted, a popular British TV series, set on Craggy Island , a fictional island off the west coast of Ireland. The series was almost entirely filmed in the Burren. Janet also offers guided bike tours, and is very knowledgeable about the history, geology, archaeology and folklore in the Burren and Cliffs of Moher region, now designated as a UNESCO Geopark. She is a long standing member of the Burren Ecotourism Network, recently awarded best community tourism project by Lonely Planet's Best In Travel Awards 2021.

Janet has been guiding since Apr 2002

Janet is an excellent tour guide. She has a pleasant personality. She took us to many interesting sites in Ireland, many which were new to me. Janet had much historical information of the different sites she took us to. I'm interested in visiting Ireland as a result. I look forward to taking more tours with Janet.
