About the tour

A world heritage site by UNESCO, the oldest hydraulic funicular in the world, an incredible baroque zigzag staircase and a view at 194m (636feet) over Braga. I will leave my hometown of Porto, get on a train 1h15 towards north to take you on this adventure discovering the Shrine of Bom Jesus do Monte. There you'll witness an unique funicular moved by water. We'll have a look at the XIX century church's façade and then walk down together the 3 virtues and 5 senses staircases, admiring on the way the lateral chapels of the Passion of Christ. The cherry on top will be once we get to the bottom to look up at the Shrine with the theatrical effect of the staircase. And to look down admiring from the top the city voted as 2021 best destination in Europe.

Come and join her walking up and down the streets of steep Porto and be mesmerized by its beauty.

An informative and interesting tour with Claudia, who has a quiet, gentle style of presentation which is nice to see, not all guides have to be in your face! And to those that complained (ungrateful and self-entitled ) I would like to see you climb 577 steps/nearly 400ft and be able to provide a full commentary! Get over yourselves and just enjoy the privilege that Claudia, other guides and Heygo brings you. Thank you for an enjoyable tour Claudia. I look forward to taking more with you

Another fantastic tour with Claudia. I love that she explains everything in great detail, gives us plenty time to enjoy the sights of the tour and plenty time to take postcards. She is a very knowledgeable tour guide who gives very professional and enjoyable experiences. I love that she does this tour from top to bottom because the view from the bottom looking back up to the top is spectacular! All the people who spit their dummy out and have a meltdown because they don't agree with this tour being started at the top so they leave.... They really are missing out because the end view looking up is truly breath taking! 😍

An excellent tour on a beautiful day. Fabulous views of Braga and the countryside from this elevated shrine. Didn't matter to me whether we went from top to bottom or vice versa.
