About the tour

On this tour, we are going to climb to the top of Elephant Trunk Hill! This natural famous formation is the symbol of Guilin and sits majestically on the western bank of the Li River. It resembles an elephant sucking water from the river with its long trunk. Our other tour takes you around the base. For this tour, our guide will lead you through the Water-Moon Cave and begin her ascent up the narrow path to the top of the hill. Once you arrive with her, you will have a majestic birds-eye view of Guilin city and enjoy the tranquil Samantabhadra Pagoda which you can barely see it at the foot of the hill. Along the way, you will peer inside a local alcohol cellar! Please follow our guide to get an excellent view while exploring this unique Guilin site.

Yvonne is a delight. She climbed many, many stairs to show us the best views, gave us great camera angles for post cards and explained everything very well. She also got up extremely early so she could be at this popular site before it was overrun by tourists. Thank you.

It was so much fun seeing the area around Elephant Trunk Hill from a different vantage point. I really appreciate Yvonne's upbeat attitude and willingness to go out early in the morning and tackle so many steps! I got some wonderful postcards, enjoyed the company, and learned so much about Guilin. Thank you Yvonne. Your tours just get better and better.
