About the tour

Let’s discover the neighborhood of Les Halles, home to one of the best market streets of Paris. Built in the 1100’s, the market has been described as the belly of Paris! The Montorgueil street was an important axis leading to the market since the Middle Age and kept its tradition of fresh, diverse and gourmet foods in Paris. Excellent bakeries, pastry shops, cheese shops, fishmongers, delicatessen as well as many restaurants brought its strong reputation as a center of good gastronomy. Discover the specialties of Stohrer, including the macarons, the oldest pastry shop of Paris, a place opened in 1730 where the baba au rhum were invented (a place also visited by Elizabeth II, queen of England!). See the variety of cheese and the favorite cheeses of the French as well as the different kinds of bread and the best baguettes. Discover the variety of products coming from the different regions of France! Get to know French culture through its gastronomy in the heart of Paris and the reasons why the French are wildly passionate about it!

Meet Florent

Florent

It's an understatement to say Florent knows Paris. Born in this wonderful city, Florent says he confidently knows every nook and cranny. Having completed over 2000 tours, we believe him. He's a self-declared history, art, and archaeology fan. What he loves most is sharing the best parts (and secrets) of Paris with you! “In French, if you add two letters to Paris, it becomes Paradis (Paradise in English)” he laughs. And paradise, it truly is. Be it exploring Paris' gastronomical delights or catching an auction, walking along the River Seine (which Florent gallantly swam), exploring spots where Hemingway lived or its sprawling gardens, Florent takes you on an exciting tour through his favorite city. “I love sharing my discoveries, explaining the boisterous history of Paris and showing places that are very hard to find otherwise, and of course getting to know new people every day!” Florent says.

This was the most amazing tour I have taken so far. It was so enjoyable and makes me want to drop everything and move to Paris today! It was wonderful to see the beautiful and artistic desserts, all the variety, hear Florent's expertise on cheeses, ham and breads. My favorite shop was the Stohrer which was so beautiful and the desserts must have been made with kings and queens in mind. Too beautiful to eat. Thank you as well for introducing us to the wonderful cream puff store. Paris was so beautiful and the streets were uplifting, and Florent did a wonderful job! Please take us on a chocolate tour of Paris as well! Thank you!
