Embark with Pepus on a leisurely stroll to discover Barcelona’s exciting Medieval Town District, which started with an elegant Roman Colony 2000 years ago. Let’s ramble on La Rambla with the Boqueria Food Market, Opera House Liceu, pass by Heritage Stores and Art Galleries, see the 2000 years old Roman Walls, Gothic Cathedral, Town Hall and the Catalonian Government Building. Join us on Kings Square where tradition locates Christopher Columbus being welcomed by the Catholic Monarchs and cheering crowds, upon returning from his discovery of a new world! We will also share the secrets of Barcelona in the middle ages, the “pooping shepherd” tradition and… let's just say, Pepus will reserve a couple of hidden treasures to top off the tour for you!
"I started guiding when I was 17 as a tour director, and I've since traveled the world and lived in many cities to learn the 4 foreign languages that I now guide in. I have always loved to be among people from all parts of the planet, and I am so lucky now to be able to host them virtually in Barcelona," says Josep. Born and raised in Barcelona, Josep, or "Pepus" as everyone calls him, is a licensed guide with more than 25 years of experience showing people around his incredible city. He takes pride in his extensive knowledge of the masterpieces of Antonio Gaudi, the most outstanding architect of our time whose works include the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, and La Pedrera to name a few. He has hosted many distinguished guests, including foreign dignitaries, celebrities, actors, and 1000s of other visitors around his city. "An unforgettable memory was when I was told that I had to guide a personality whose name they could not disclose, and then I had to show Barcelona to the first man that had stepped on the moon. Neil Armstrong! I felt very honored!" he says. On his tours, you might also get to discover some culinary delights. Josep loves cooking up a gastronomical storm and if you're lucky, he might just take you along to a gourmet food tour, especially "Mediterranean cooking that they would not dare to order or try on their own…and then they end up loving it forever!" he laughs. Pepus is your man if you want to get under the skin of Barcelona, and discover the culture and history oozing from every street!

Get ready for something special. We're travelling to Barcelona with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you'll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing guide.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your guide directly from Barcelona. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your guide and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to book and join, but you have the option to tip the guide during the tour.
Leaving a tip will help support the guides and allow us to offer tours in more places around the world. If you aren't able to leave a tip, then it would be great if you can share the tour with friends and family to spread the word.

This is my 2nd Barcelona tour with Pepus and I will continue to accompany him on future tours. I spend 4 - 8 weeks in Barcelona every year (except 2020-21) walking the city and learning about it. Pepus shared history that I hadn’t yet learned so really touched my heart. He’s been an in-person tour guide for many years so he knows his stuff. Take a tour with him - you won’t regret it!
