About the tour

El Born is, together with the Gothic Quarter, one of the most charming neighbourhoods of the old town of Barcelona. It was the economic centre of the city between the XIII and the XV centuries. Now a trendy and lively area located near the old port.. In our walk we will focus on 4 important buildings that have shaped the character of El Born in different stages of the history of Barcelona: El Born Cultural Center (an impressive former market), Santa María del Mar church (an icon in this neighourhood), Santa Catarina Market (an avantgarde food market with a unique colorful roof) and the Palau de la Musica Catalana (a fantastic Modernist Music Concert Hall). These and many other buildings, the maze of streets and the nice boulevards have made El Born a must see during your stay in Barcelona. Come and enjoy bits and more of El Born!

Jesus"s commentary was excellent when we could hear him, and the visual quality was even worse.

Jesus guided with his usual flair and passion, devising a clever route which showed us the best of the district, and explaining the history and architecture and culture of the area in a fun and engaging way.
