About the tour

The medieval town of Ávila has often been described as “ciudad de cantos y santos” (town of stones and saints). And it is true that we encounter many convents, churches, and other religious buildings built in stone, like the fantastic Romanesque cathedral. But all this together with the superb wall that encloses the old town, the variety of palaces and the eternal presence of Saint Teresa make Ávila a well-deserved position among the UNESCO towns. We start our tour by the most important entrance gate, Puerta del Alcázar, to then discover together the beautiful historic town. Join me in this walk through Ávila!

Very good use of the camera, moving slowly enough so that everything could be seen. There were times when Jesus was telling us about St Theresa but then would switch stories about the buildings which got a little confusing.

Jesus is fantastic and one of the very best guides! We live the way he explains historical matters in such a personal clear way. Many thanks.

Don't be deceived: Jesus' gentle, relaxing, modest style doesn't mean he doesn't pack the information in! I am going to rebook this tour, as I was a bit distracted by breaking news here in the UK, and couldn't give it the full attention it deserves. I'd already done a couple of Jesus' Segovia tours (also highly recommended) and was happy to join him again here in the magnificent medieval walled town of Ávila. A really warm and engaging tour guide with a great eye for a picture, and a gift for explaining history.
