Melbourne is home to a diverse community reflecting the distinctive life of our city, and also helps make it what it is: a confident cultural capital with a global reputation for its energy and creativity. John Harding is a proud Ku Ku yimidir (Far North Queensland) and Erub, Darnley Island (Torres Strait Islander) man, but born and bred in Melbourne. He has 40 years of deep cross-sectoral experience that includes government, the trade union movement, broadcasting and NGOs. He’s also a poet, an actor, founder of the Ilbijerri Aboriginal Theatre Company and an award-winning playwright, having penned 13 plays at his kitchen table in his spare time. Join me in John's home for a good old chin-wag.
Susanna is an avid reader of historical detective novels, a radio producer, civil celebrant, over-worked grandmother and, for fun, she reconstructs Ancient Roman recipes. For over 30 years she taught adults, particularly women, in the technical aspects of radio broadcasting and film production, or how to get out there and just do it. She's also been a social worker, a consulting psychologist, stage actor and barmaid. Susanna is a proud descendant of 19th century convicts, republicans and revolutionaries and still wants to be a time-traveller.
Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Melbourne with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.
The tour will last about 45 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Melbourne. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!
While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.
We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.
The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.
Reserve your spot by selecting a time to book. Once done, you’ll be able to see your reservations on your Trips page and we’ll send you an email confirmation with a link to join the tour.
