About the tour

Arusha is a city in East Africa's Tanzania, located at the base of volcanic Mt. Meru. It's a gateway to safari destinations and to Africa's highest peak, 5,895m Mt. Kilimanjaro, lying some 100 kilometers northeast. To the west lies Serengeti National Park, home to wildlife including lions, rhinoceros, giraffes and leopards. Annual migrations feature huge herds of wildebeests crossing its plains.

Meet Mufasa

Bahati is an excellent guide in Tanzania - he sends us to amazing places for the experiences of a lifetime - whether it be visiting a Massai Village in the bush, seeing amazing history in Zanzibar including hand carved doorways, beautiful scents and colors of the spice market on the ""Spice Island"", swimming with the dolphins and finishing with a local fresh caught fish and chips dinner... He is the master at finding wildlife in the Ngorogoro Crater and giving me the experience of driving the land rover through the Serengeti with the wildebeast and zebra crisscrossing the road in front of us.... he loves telling us about the birds we spot along the way and amuses with stories of the areas we are seeing. I'm looking forward to the experiences he will be adding to HeyGo/Virtual Tours!!!-- Karibu Tanzania.

What to expect

Get ready for something special. We’re travelling to Arusha with no passport, no plane ticket and no luggage. And yet you’ll experience all the sights, sounds and stories with just your laptop, favorite snack and an amazing content creator.

The tour will last about 60 mins and will be live-streamed by your content creator directly from Arusha. Forget about slideshows or pre-recorded videos, this is a live broadcast and anything can happen!

While on the tour you’ll be able to see a full screen video of your content creator and their surroundings, interact with them and other travellers through the live chat, see where you are in the world on a map and show your appreciation with a tip.

Why are they tip-supported?

We are running these tours on a tip-supported basis to make them as accessible as possible. They are free to join, but you have the option to leave a tip during the tour.

The majority of your tip goes directly to support the channel, while the rest helps Heygo continue to build a place that brings the world closer together.

No doubt the tour was interesting, but way too lenghty. There is so much to show, so why not make TWO tours of it? So you can avoid the long rides by motorbike between the different places. In fact, this was the first tour I had to leave "early" after 75 minutes because I had some other chores to do :-( Sorry. Another thing that disturbed me a bit was that when I joined seven minutes before the time scheduled, I found the tour already taking place. No official start, no welcoming travellers with a "face" at the beginning. I understand that you want to share your CULTURE with us, but we would also like to get to know YOU, Mufasa.

Great to revisit Arusha, last seen by me in 2001. To see the cultural centre on the outskirts and then the Masai market along Fire Road where you wizzed by my old school so fast I barely got a glimpse of it. Maybe pass a little slower on my next tour!

Nice tour, thank you. Loved the earrings you purchased for your wife.
